PTA - Friends of St Johns
The ‘Friends of St Johns’ (or the PTA!) would like to welcome you to our page. For those of you who don’t know who we are, or indeed what we have achieved over the past year, read on to find out more!
You may not realise but you are already a member of the PTA when your child joins the school and by coming along to the events throughout the year, you help the PTA raise significant sums which have made a real difference to the school and your children. In the past year, as a consequence of the various events held, we have raised £7000. The children benefit directly from the these fundraising events which enable us to purchase additional resources such as playground equipment, excellent interactive whiteboard resources, contributions towards additional laptops, Geography resources and playground equipment. We still have a couple of larger projects in hand which we will share next term. The PTA has also been able to support events such as Sports Days, Evening Concerts, Year Group Shows and Year 6 Leavers by providing prizes, lollies, refreshments and gifts.
Please come along to any of our PTA meetings which happen periodically throughout the term, normally just after school starts or before school finishes. These are very relaxed and friendly sessions to help plan future events. Look out for dates and times in the school newsletter. If you can’t make ‘day time’ meetings but would like to get involved, then let us know and we can arrange an evening meeting!
PS We are always looking for people to join the committee! This is a great chance to get involved and clock up some useful experience for the CV!
