French Café - Year 5

Year 5’s “pop up” French Café was a huge success for the pupils and their customers. In fact the café was full to bursting!
Over the past weeks, Year 5 have been learning how to ask for French food and beverages and this culminated in a Café, open to parents/careers and relatives, where the pupils, acting as waiters and waitresses, showed the language skills they have learnt. Croissants, baguettes, café au lait, jus d’orange, conifiture and chocolate chaud were all available, amongst other items, for a small cost. Profit from the café is to go to a local cause.
In the middle of the café was an artist quarter. Here, customers could have a caricature drawn of themselves by one of the five artists. A quiz about France and a game of lotto added to a continental feel to the occasion.
A splendid time was had by all.
