Choir Rotary Club March 2014
On Tuesday 11th March 2014, the Junior and Senior Choirs were part of the Locks Heath Rotary Club Competition at the Victory Hall, Warsash.
Over 50 children from Years 2 through Year 6 attended the competition.
St Johns Junior Choir sang High Hopes, using lots of exciting actions and with one Year 3 soloist. Next, the choir gave a lovely rendition of Here Comes the Sun with three Year 3 soloists! Our Junior choir did very well, coming 2nd place, despite some of the newer members feeling very nervous!
Soon after, our Senior Choir got toes tapping with Jungle Rhythm with an impressive counter melody from a Year 6 group! Love is an open door – a new song from Disney’s Frozen – was led by one Year 4 and one Year 6 soloist and included lots of challenging harmonies! The judges commended the Senior Choir on their mastery of these complicated songs and awarded us 1st place (2nd year running!)
The St John’s Choirs performed and behaved beautifully and can’t wait for next year!
