Living, loving, learning with thankfulness and hope

Anna Wardley

On Monday 11th November Year 2 Children invited endurance swimmer Anna Wardley to talk to them about her 5 Island swim challenge to enhance their learning about 'journeys' .

Anna has recently completed the mammoth task of swimming around Dragonera, Portsea, Jersey and the Isle of Wight. The children were amazed to hear that she had to stop her August swim around the Island of Tiree in the Hebrodes after 6 gruelling hours but still managed to persevere to swim around the Isle of Wight in September in 26 hours and become only the 4th person to do so.

Anna has raised approx £55,000 for the charities she supports (£10,000 from her IOW swim alone) which are Ellen Macarthur Cancer Trust, Samaritans and Sail Africa.

Anna also has her own website where there is more information about her swims www.annawardley.com  The children really enjoyed her visit and were very keen to suggest new challenges!
