Year 6 Community Art Project with Brookfield School
Joint Art Project With Brookfield.
Recently three Year 6 artists joined Year 9 pupils at Brookfield for an all-day joint art project. On Monday 24th March 2019. Maks, Amelia, and Alex accompanied by Mrs Cawte had a fabulous day at Brookfield Art Department painting a large scale portrait of Sir David Bowie.
“I absolutely loved the experience and had lots of fun. I‘m excited it’s going to be up around Brookfield,” said Amelia.
Maks commented, “I really enjoyed the art at Brookfield, because I tried out new art styles.”
“We got to paint a picture of a famous person. Our group chose David Bowie representing the music department. Overall it was extremely exciting.”
Skills that St John’s pupils learnt were: how to build up a base of paint, lettering and adding detail.
Apparently the pupils listened to some of Bowie’s music whilst painting!
The piece is to be put up in Brookfield’s grounds along with others that other local schools painted.
